Melbourne Brick Glen Iris

Please call us on 1300 722 102 for assistance with your projects.

Glen Iris is our spiritual home, much like the MCG is the spiritual home of footy.

Lying either side of Gardiners Creek, the Glen Iris name comes from a residence built by a solicitor J.C. Turner – he had acquired his land from a settler who had travelled to Victoria on the ship named the Iris.

Glen Iris includes the small locality of Gardiner which, with the creek of the same name, was named after John Gardiner who overlanded stock to Port Phillip from New South Wales in 1836.

This well-established inner-eastern suburb was first mentioned as a township in 1880, but a school and church predate that by about 15 years. And the original property, Glen Iris was advertised for sale in 1852 by Captain Thomas Henderson of the Royal Navy.

The City Brick Co. Pty. Ltd. was established in about 1900, erecting a Hoffman kiln, and brick press building on Tooronga Road near Gardners Creek.

Today Melbourne Brick is in the hub of home and garden stores, and ready to show you our wide range of products including bricks, pavers, retaining walls, grass and turf and much much more.

Our display centre is located at:
