Life before 1830 was a bit of a struggle if you wanted a lawn in your property. Keeping a lawn maintained required hand scything or shearing. And for this reason, lawns were really only popular among the wealthy.
In addition, many others required their property or land for more functional, agricultural purposes.
In 1830 the lawnmower was invented by Edwin Beard Bunning and in 1952, our very own iconic mower – the Victa – was invented in Concord Australia by Mervyn Victor Richardson.
At Melbourne Brick, we stock and supply a wide range of beautiful lawn grasses for all situations. From Kikuyu to Buffalo and everything in between.
